Equipment: 1. Magician’s Repeat Change Bag (This is a change bag with
three compartments).
2. Make three LOVE signs. Using 3 small pieces of light weight white cloth,
about
6” long x 3” wide. They can be cut out of an old T-shirt or any light weight
cloth
and it is best if the edges are hemmed. Write the word “LOVE” on each piece
of
cloth in RED. A big fat red magic marker is good for that.
Set up: Put one LOVE sign in each of the three compartments in
the change bag. During this lesson do not give the change bag to anyone.
Simply hold it out so your helpers can take the pieces of cloth out of
it. You should practice switching between the compartments in the bag with
one hand before doing this lesson in front of an audience. Do it in such
a way that people never notice that you have switched the compartment.
A little trick to switching the compartments:
When you switch compartments, do not hold the bag down so that the people
that are near you can see into the bag. Just before you flip the switch,
tilt the top of the bag back toward yourself. Use your body to block the
audiences’ view of the top of the bag. Do not let on that you are doing
anything. Do it in a very casual natural way.
God Does Love Me
What to say and how to say it:
Place yourself close to your audience)
There are many people that think that God could not love them. They think
that they have done so many bad things that God could never forgive them.
They think that God may love someone else but He would never Love me. (Hold
the bag out to someone near you and let them take one LOVE Sign out of
the bag. When they take the sign out of the bag have them hold it up so
everyone can see it.)
But God loves everyone. He loves each of us now and even before
we got saved, God loved us. He does not love our sins, but He loves us
enough to see past our sins to what we could become. He wants us to understand
that He offers his love, but we have to receive His Love (reach into
the bag and pull the bag inside out so everyone can see that the bag is
empty. Push the insides of the bag back inside and change compartments.
Remember to hide the change.).
God never runs out of love. (Hold the bag out to someone else
and let them pull a love sign out of the bag. Have them hold it out so
everyone can see it. Pull the bag inside out again so they can see that
it is empty. Push the insides of the bag back inside and change compartments.
Remember to hide the change).
There is no end to God’s Love it just goes
on and on. It is ment for everyone, but we have to receive it and live
it. There are some people that will tell you that they used to love God
(have one of the people that has a LOVE sign put their sign back into the
bag. They push God away. (Switch the bag to the empty compartment) Those
people need to understand that if they push God away long enough that God
will stop trying to Love them. He turns you over to your own reprobate
mind. You do that to yourself. That is not something that God wants to
do, but it is something that you force on God by rejecting Him. (Hold the
bag out to the person that just put their LOVE sign in the bag. They will
not find their sign. Pull the bag inside out again to show that it is empty
then push the insides of the bag back into the bag. (Switch to a compartment
that has a LOVE sign and go to someone else.)
Does God still Love us? Of course He does.
God is ready to forgive anyone that will receive Him. (Hold the bag out
to a new person and let them take a LOVE sign. (Pull the bag inside out
again to show that it is empty then put it back inside the bag.)
(Go back to the person that rejected God and switch the bag to
the last LOVE sign) You can receive God right up to the second that you
die. The problem is that none of us know when we are going to die. You
can drop over dead right here, right now. You just don’t know. God is ready
to receive you now. Will you get another chance to ask God to forgive you?
I don’t know. God is offering His love to you right now. (Hold out the
bag to the person that rejected God and let them take the last LOVE sign.)
Why don’t you pray with me now?
