God will show me the path, 29 verses

There are two paths of life: Gods' way and man's way. If you try to do things your way you are on your own. God only helps people who are trying to do things His way. God provides a set of instructions for all Christian believers. You might think of them as a set of guidelines for every persons’ life. He also gives us specific instructions for our Personal Path.

A. The General guidelines of life are what God expects all of His children to do. God uses hundreds of verses in His Word to establish these standards. You really need to read and learn God's Word for yourself to get a real in depth understanding of what He expects. This is just a quick sample but the bottom line is: If God wouldn't do it, you shouldn't do it.

1. Psalm 1:1-6, (esv) 15.The Way of the Righteous and the Wicked
1.Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; 2.but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night. 3. He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers. 4.The wicked are not so, but are like chaff that the wind drives away. 5.Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous; 6.for the Lord knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.

B. He gave us the ministry of reconciliation and made us ambassadors. God expects us to become a good representative of Christ and what He stands for.

2. 2 Corinthians 5: 15 - 20, (esv) 15. And He died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again (Jesus). 16.So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer. 17.Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! 18.All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: 19.that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men's sins against them. And he committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ's behalf: Be reconciled to God.

C. We should respect everyone. We need to ensure that we are not contaminated by the worldly people we know. Bad people want you to be as bad and ungodly as they are and they will try to trick you into doing sinful things.

3. Titus 2:7, (esv) 7. Show yourself in all respects to be a model of good works, and in your teaching show integrity, dignity,
4. 1 Peter 2:17 , (esv) 17. Respect everyone, love other believers, honor God, and respect the Emperor.

D. It should always be clear to everyone that we are the children of God and we do not do anything that is a sin , no matter what anyone else does.

5. 1 Corinthians 15:33-34, (esv) 33.Do not be deceived: “Bad company ruins good morals.” 34.Wake up from your drunken stupor, as is right, and do not go on sinning. For some have no knowledge of God. I say this to your shame.

E. If you date, marry or do business with someone who is unsaved or a sinner you leave yourself open for the devil's attack.

6. James 4:7, (esv) 7.Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
7. 2 Corinthians 6:14-18, (esv) The Temple of the Living God
14.Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? 15.What accord has Christ with Belial? Or what portion does a believer share with an unbeliever? 16.What agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; as God said, “I will make my dwelling among them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. 17.Therefore go out from their midst, and be separate from them, says the Lord, and touch no unclean thing; then I will welcome you, 18.and I will be a father to you, and you shall be sons and daughters to me says the Lord Almighty.”

F. God sets His rules for your benefit

8. Ephesians 5:1-2, (esv) Walk in Love
1.Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. 2.And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.
(In other words, if God would not do it you should not do it. If you would not tell your pastor or your mother about it, you should not be doing it.)
9. Ephesians 5:8-10, (esv) 8.for at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light 9.(for the fruit of light is found in all that is good and right and true), 10 and try to discern what is pleasing to the Lord.

G. Your Personal Path: To learn what your personal path is requires you to spend time with God. While God has given you a brain and you do not need God's permission to go to the bathroom or get something to eat or any other day to day thing. You should seek His guidance in every big decision you make.

Notice how personal this psalm is, full of I, me, and my, a personal relationship full of trust. This kind of relationship comes from spending time with God and learning that you can trust Him anytime because He really does Love you.

10. Psalm 23:1-6, (esv) 1.The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2.He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. 3.He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake. 4.Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. 5.You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. 6.Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

H. If you have questions, then God is the answer guy. You should understand that God talks to you in a still sweet voice in your heart. The devil talks to you through your mind.

11. Psalm 20:6, (esv) 6.Now I know that the Lord saves his anointed; he will answer him from his holy heaven with the saving might of his right hand.
12. Psalm 38:15, (esv) 15.But for you, O Lord, do I wait;it is you, O Lord my God, who will answer.
13. Psalm 86:7, (esv) 7.In the day of my trouble I call upon you, for you answer me.
14. James 1:5–8, (esv) 5.If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. 6.But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. 7.For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; 8.he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.

I. Spirits that talk to you, While these verses are talking about inspired talking or teaching they also apply to any situation where any spirit, good or bad, is trying to operate through you. If you are confused or if the spirit wants you to sin, the devil is in the works somewhere and you should not act on what the devil is telling you. God will always do what God's Word says in love and patience. If you think that it will lead to sin, or feel rushed, or unable to think about the situation, it is not from God.

15. 1 Corinthians 14:29–33, (esv) 29.Let two or three prophets speak, and let the others weigh what is said. 30.If a revelation is made to another sitting there, let the first be silent. 31.For you can all prophesy one by one, so that all may learn and all be encouraged, 32.and the spirits of prophets are subject to prophets. 33.For God is not a God of confusion but of peace.

J. God is the source of life. God's path always leads to victory and all manner of good.

16. John 14:6, (esv) 6.Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
17. Psalm 37:23-24, (esv) 2.The steps of a man are established by the LORD, when he delights in his way; 24.though he fall, he shall not be cast headlong, for the LORD upholds his hand.

K. Satan is the destroyer of life.

Satan deceives people and leads them astray in many ways. He tries filling them with anything that leads people away from Christ. Anything that is more important to you then Christ is something that has become your false God. Some people put sports above Christ, others have been deceived into believing that tarot cards, witch craft and Ouija boards are from God. They are not. Only by filling yourself with God's Word "the Bible" will you be successful with Christ.

18. John 10:10-11, (esv) 10.The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly. 11.I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.

22. Romans 10:9-10, (esv) 9.because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.10 For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.
23. Hebrews 7:25, (esv) 25.Consequently, he is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them. (Also John 10: all)

N. Make up your mind, you are either for God or against Him.

24. Luke 16: 13–15, (esv) 13.No servant can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.” The Law and the Kingdom of God 14.The Pharisees, who were lovers of money, heard all these things, and they ridiculed him. 15.And he said to them, “You are those who justify yourselves before men, but God knows your hearts. For what is exalted among men is an abomination in the sight of God.

O. Jesus gave us access to God

25. John 9:31, (esv) 31.We know that God does not listen to sinners, but if anyone is a worshiper of God and does his will, God listens to him.

P. God shows me how to stay on the right path. God's Word tells you exactly what to do.

26. Psalms 119:all, (esv) 35.Lead me in the path of your commandments, for I delight in it. 36.Incline my heart to your testimonies, and not to selfish gain!

105.Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.

130. The unfolding of your words gives light; it imparts understanding to the simple. 131.I open my mouth and pant, because I long for your commandments. 132.Turn to me and be gracious to me, as is your way with those who love your name. 133.Keep steady my steps according to your promise, and let no iniquity get dominion over me. 134.Redeem me from man's oppression, that I may keep your precepts.
27. Proverbs 4:19-23, (esv) 19.The way of the wicked is like deep darkness; they do not know over what they stumble. 20.My son, be attentive to my words; incline your ear to my sayings. 21.Let them not escape from your sight; keep them within your heart. 22.For they are life to those who find them, and healing to all their flesh. 23.Keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it flow the springs of life.

Q. Jesus even gave us the Holy Spirit to help keep us on the correct path.

28. John 14:12-21, (esv) 12.“Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I am going to the Father. 13.Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14.If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it.
Jesus Promises the Holy Spirit
15.“If you love me, you will keep my commandments. 16.And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, 17.even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you. 18.“I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. 19.Yet a little while and the world will see me no more, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live. 20.In that day you will know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you. 21.Whoever has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me. And he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him.”

R. God shows us the correct attitude to have in life. He tells us what we should and should not do.

29. Romans 1:16-32, (esv) 16. The Righteous Shall Live by Faith
16.For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. 17.For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, “The righteous shall live by faith.”
God's Wrath on Unrighteousness
18.For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. 19.For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. 20.For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse. 21.For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22.Claiming to be wise, they became fools, 23.and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man and birds and animals and creeping things. 24.Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves, 25.because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen. 26.For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; 27.and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error. 28.And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done. 29.They were filled with all manner of unrighteousness, evil, covetousness, malice. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, maliciousness. They are gossips, 30.slanderers, haters of God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, 31.foolish, faithless, heartless, ruthless. 32.Though they know God's righteous decree that those who practice such things deserve to die, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them.

S. But the life of Christ is only for Christians.

The door is now open for you to change your life. The moment is now at hand. Please take this moment to pray with me and change your life into something good. What does it mean to be saved? It means that in your heart you know, that you know, that you know, that Christ is alive and living in you. But that all starts with believing and confessing that Christ is real and inviting Him into your life. Please pray with me now. Confessing Christ with your mouth.

Heavenly Father, I pray that you would forgive me of my sins and I forgive all those who have sinned against me. Father, I open my heart and invite Jesus into my life, and turn my life over to Him in Love. Fill me with your Spirit, lead and guide me in the path that you would have me to take in Jesus name I pray amen.
For those of you who have really prayed this prayer with your heart, Christ says you are a new creature, all of your old sins are wiped away, all things are new in Christ! Congratulations! Now you need to start praying that God will show you a Good church to go to, so be receptive to the leading of your heart, not your mind, and go to church. And remember, Jesus loves you!
