Numbers as they are generally used in the Bible

This is a simple list containing some of the implied or symbolic meanings that can be gleaned from the use of numbers throughout the Bible. These are not the only meanings, but are to the best of my knowledge the generally accepted meanings. There are no scriptural references that flatly state that any number means anything. So use this information with some caution.

One Unity or the beginning
Two Witness, agreement, or testimony
Three Perfection, the trinity, Jesus, the resurrection
Four Man, humanity, humanism, material things
Five Grace, God's help
Six Imperfection, and another number for man
Seven Completion
Eight Resurrection
Nine The end, the finish, completeness, sometimes seen as the result of putting other numbers together: 3 x 3 = 9, or 3 + 3 = 6
Ten Law and order
Eleven Lawlessness and disorder
Twelve God's rule or government on Earth: twelve apostles, twelve tribe of Israel
