One thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to inquire in his temple. 5. For he will hide me in his shelter in the day of trouble; he will conceal me under the cover of his tent; he will lift me high upon a rock. 6. And now my head shall be lifted up above my enemies all around me, and I will offer in his tent sacrifices with shouts of joy; I will sing and make melody to the Lord. 7. Hear, O Lord, when I cry aloud; be gracious to me and answer me! 8. You have said, “Seek my face.” My heart says to you, “Your face, Lord, do I seek. 9. Hide not your face from me. Turn not your servant away in anger, O you who have been my help. Cast me not off; forsake me not, O God of my salvation! 10. For my father and my mother have forsaken me, but the Lord will take me in. 11. Teach me your way, O Lord, and lead me on a level path because of my enemies. 12. Give me not up to the will of my adversaries; for false witnesses have risen against me, and they breathe out violence. 13. I believe that I shall look upon the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living! 14. Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!

So I will bless you as long as I live; in your name I will lift up my hands. 5. My soul will be satisfied as with fat and rich food, and my mouth will praise you with joyful lips, 6. when I remember you upon my bed, and meditate on you in the watches of the night; 7. for you have been my help, and in the shadow of your wings I will sing for joy. 8. My soul clings to you; your right hand upholds me. 9. But those who seek to destroy my life shall go down into the depths of the earth; 10. they shall be given over to the power of the sword; they shall be a portion for jackals. 11. The Lord works righteousness and justice for all who are oppressed. 7. He made known his ways to Moses, his acts to the people of Israel. 8. The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love. 9. He will not always chide, nor will he keep his anger forever. 10. He does not deal with us according to our sins, nor repay us according to our iniquities. 11. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him; 12. as far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us. 13. As a father shows compassion to his children, so the Lord shows compassion to those who fear him. 14. For he knows our frame; he remembers that we are dust. 15. As for man, his days are like grass; he flourishes like a flower of the field; 16. for the wind passes over it, and it is gone, and its place knows it no more. 17. But the steadfast love of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear him, and his righteousness to children's children, 18. to those who keep his covenant and remember to do his commandments. 19. The Lord has established his throne in the heavens, and his kingdom rules over all. 21. Bless the Lord, O you his angels, you mighty ones who do his word, obeying the voice of his word! 8. 15. Isaiah 53:1-12, (esv) Talking about Jesus
1. Who has believed what he has heard from us? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed? 2. For he grew up before him like a young plant, and like a root out of dry ground; he had no form or majesty that we should look at him, and no beauty that we should desire him. 3. He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief; and as one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not. 4. Surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. 5. But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed. 6. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned—every one—to his own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all. 7. He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth; like a lamb that is led to the slaughter, and like a sheep that before its shearers is silent, so he opened not his mouth. 8. By oppression and judgment he was taken away; and as for his generation, who considered that he was cut off out of the land of the living, stricken for the transgression of my people? 9. And they made his grave with the wicked and with a rich man in his death, although he had done no violence, and there was no deceit in his mouth. 10. Yet it was the will of the Lord o crush him; he has put him to grief; when his soul makes an offering for guilt, he shall see his offspring; he shall prolong his days; the will of the Lord shall prosper in his hand. 11. Out of the anguish of his soul he shall see and be satisfied; by his knowledge shall the righteous one, my servant, make many to be accounted righteous, and he shall bear their iniquities. 12. Therefore I will divide him a portion with the many, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong, because he poured out his soul to death and was numbered with the transgressors; yet he bore the sin of many, and makes intercession for the transgressors.
16. Isaiah 54:10, (esv) 10. For the mountains may depart and the hills be removed, but my steadfast love shall not depart from you, and my covenant of peace shall not be removed,” says the Lord, who has compassion on you.
17. Jeremiah 29:11-14, (esv) 11. For I (Jesus) know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. 12. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. 13. You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart. 14. I will be found by you, declares the Lord, and I will restore your fortunes and gather you from all the nations and all the places where I have driven you, declares the Lord, and I will bring you back to the place from which I sent you into exile.
18 Jeremiah 33:3, (esv) 3. Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known.
19. Lamentations 3:22-26, (esv) 22. The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; 23. they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. 24. The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, therefore I will hope in him. 25. The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him. 26. It is good that one should wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.
20. Zephaniah 3:17, (esv) 17. The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing.
21. Malachi 3:16-18, (esv) The Book of Remembrance
16. Then those who feared the Lord spoke with one another. The Lord paid attention and heard them, and a book of remembrance was written before him of those who feared the Lord and esteemed his name. 17. They shall be mine, says the Lord of hosts, in the day when I make up my treasured possession, and I will spare them as a man spares his son who serves him. 18. Then once more you shall see the distinction between the righteous and the wicked, between one who serves God and one who does not serve him.

New Testament

22. Matthew 11:28-29, (esv) 28. Come to me (Jesus), all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
23. Matthew 28:18-20, (esv) 18. And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20. teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.

24. Luke 12:8-12, (esv) Acknowledge Christ Before Men
8. And I tell you, everyone who acknowledges me (Jesus) before men, the Son of Man also will acknowledge before the angels of God, 9. but the one who denies me before men will be denied before the angels of God. 10. And everyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but the one who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven. 11. And when they bring you before the synagogues and the rulers and the authorities, do not be anxious about how you should defend yourself or what you should say, 12. for the Holy Spirit will teach you in that very hour what you ought to say.
25. John 3:16-21, (esv) 16. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. 17. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. 18. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. 19. And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil. 20. For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed. 21. But whoever does what is true comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been carried out in God.
26. John 10:9-11, (esv) 9. I (Jesus) am the door. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture. 10. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly. 11. I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.
27. John 13:34-35, (esv) 34. A new commandment I (Jesus) give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. 35. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.
28. John 14:6, (esv) 6. Jesus said to him, I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
29. John 15:9-17, (esv) 9. As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in my love. 10. If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commandments and abide in his love. 11. These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full. 12. This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. 13. Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. 14. You are my friends if you do what I command you. 15. No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you. 16. You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you. 17. These things I command you, so that you will love one another.
30. John 17:20-26, (esv) 20. I do not ask for these only, but also for those who will believe in me through their word, 21. that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me. 22. The glory that you have given me I have given to them, that they may be one even as we are one, 23. I in them and you in me, that they may become perfectly one, so that the world may know that you sent me and loved them even as you loved me. 24. Father, I desire that they also, whom you have given me, may be with me where I am, to see my glory that you have given me because you loved me before the foundation of the world. 25. O righteous Father, even though the world does not know you, I know you, and these know that you have sent me. 26. I made known to them your name, and I will continue to make it known, that the love with which you have loved me may be in them, and I in them.
31. Acts 4:11-12, (esv) 11. This Jesus is the stone that was rejected by you, the builders, which has become the cornerstone. 12. And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.
32. Romans 3:21-33, (esv) The Righteousness of God Through Faith
21. But now the righteousness of God has been manifested apart from the law, although the Law and the Prophets bear witness to it— 22. the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction: 23. for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24. and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, 25. whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God's righteousness, because in his divine forbearance he had passed over former sins. 26. It was to show his righteousness at the present time, so that he might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus. 27. Then what becomes of our boasting? It is excluded. By what kind of law? By a law of works? No, but by the law of faith. 28. For we hold that one is justified by faith apart from works of the law. 29. Or is God the God of Jews only? Is he not the God of Gentiles also? Yes, of Gentiles also, 30. since God is one—who will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through faith. 31. Do we then overthrow the law by this faith? By no means! On the contrary, we uphold the law.
33. Romans 5:3-8, (esv) 3. Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, 4. and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, 5. and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us. 6. For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. 7. For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die— 8. but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
34. Romans 6:23, (esv) 23. For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
35. Romans 8:26-39, (esv) 26. Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. 27. And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. 28. And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. 29. For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. 30. And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also justified, and those whom he justified he also glorified.
God's Everlasting Love

31. What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32. He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things? 33. Who shall bring any charge against God's elect? It is God who justifies. 34. Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who was raised—who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us. 35. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? 36. As it is written, For your sake we are being killed all the day long; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered. 37. No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, 39. nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
36. Romans 10:9-13, (esv) 9. because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. 11. For the Scripture says, “Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame. 12. For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing his riches on all who call on him. 13. For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.
37. Ephesians 2:4-10, (esv) 4. But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, 5. even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved— 6. and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7. so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. 8. For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9. not a result of works, so that no one may boast. 10. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
38. 1 Corinthians 13:1-13, (esv)The Way of Love
1. If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. 2. And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3. If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing. 4. Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant 5. or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; 6. it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. 7. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 8. Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away. 9. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10. but when the perfect comes, the partial will pass away. 11. When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I gave up childish ways. 12. For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known. 13. So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.
39. 2 Corinthians 5:10, (esv) 10. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil.
40. 2 Corinthians 5:21, (esv) 21. For our sake he (the Father) made him (Jesus) to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
(Jesus became the sacrifice for everyone’s sins)

41. Galatians 2:20, (esv) 20. I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
42. Ephesians 1:3-14, (esv) 3. Spiritual Blessings in Christ
3. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, 4. even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love 5. he predestined us for adoption to himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will, 6. to the praise of his glorious grace, with which he has blessed us in the Beloved. 7. In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace, 8. which he lavished upon us, in all wisdom and insight 9. making known to us the mystery of his will, according to his purpose, which he set forth in Christ 10. as a plan for the fullness of time, to unite all things in him, things in heaven and things on earth. 11. In him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his will, 12. so that we who were the first to hope in Christ might be to the praise of his glory. 13. In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, 14. who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his glory.
43. Ephesians 2:4-5, (esv) 4. But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, 5. even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved—
44. Ephesians 2:8, (esv) 8. For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God,
45. Ephesians 3:17-19, (esv) Prayer for Spiritual Strength
14. For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, 15. from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, 16. that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17. so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18. may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, 19. and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
46. Ephesians 5:24-27, (esv) 24. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit in everything to their husbands. 25. Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, 26. that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, 27. so that he might present the church to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish.
47. Titus 3:3-6, (esv) 3. For we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, led astray, slaves to various passions and pleasures, passing our days in malice and envy, hated by others and hating one another. 4. But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, 5. he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, 6. whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior,
48. Hebrews 12:6, (esv) 6. For the Lord disciplines the one he loves, and chastises every son whom he receives.
49. Hebrews 13:5, (esv) 5. Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.
50. 1 Peter 5:6-7, (esv) 6. Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, 7. casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.
51. 2 Peter 3:9, (esv) 9. The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.
52. 1 John 3:1-3, (esv) 1. See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him. 2. Beloved, we are God's children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is. 3. And everyone who thus hopes in him purifies himself as he is pure.
53. 1 John 3:15-18, (esv) 15. Everyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him. 16. By this we know love, that he laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers. 17. But if anyone has the world's goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God's love abide in him? 18. Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.
54. 1 John 4:7-11, (esv) God Is Love
7. Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. 8. Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love. 9. In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him. 10. In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 11. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.
55. 1 John 4:16-19, (esv) 16. So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him. 17. By this is love perfected with us, so that we may have confidence for the day of judgment, because as he is so also are we in this world. 18. There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love. 19. We love because he first loved us.
