Old Testament

1. Exodus 15:2, (esv) 2. The LORD is my strong defender; he is the one who has saved me. He is my God, and I will praise him, my father’s God, and I will sing about his greatness. (Praise God with your life, all in, no excuses!)
2. Exodus 23:20-22, (esv) 20. “Behold, I send an angel before you to guard you on the way and to bring you to the place that I have prepared. 21. Pay careful attention to him and obey his voice; do not rebel against him, for he will not pardon your transgression, for my name is in him. 22. “But if you carefully obey his voice and do all that I say, then I will be an enemy to your enemies and an adversary to your adversaries.
3. Exodus 20:2-6, (esv) 2. “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery. 3. “You shall have no other gods before me. 4. “You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. 5. You shall not bow down to them or serve them, for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and the fourth generation of those who hate me, 6. but showing steadfast love to thousands of those who love me and keep my commandments.
4. Numbers 14:41-43, (esv) 41. But Moses said, “Why now are you transgressing the command of the Lord, when that will not succeed? 42. Do not go up, for the Lord is not among you, lest you be struck down before your enemies. 43. For there the Amalekites and the Canaanites are facing you, and you shall fall by the sword. Because you have turned back from following the Lord, the Lord will not be with you.”
5. Deuteronomy 10:21, (esv) 21. Praise him—he is your God, and you have seen with your own eyes the great and astounding things that he has done for you.
6. 1 Chronicles 22:13, (esv) 13. Then you will prosper if you are careful to observe the statutes and the rules that the Lord commanded Moses for Israel. Be strong and courageous. Fear not; do not be dismayed.
7. 2 Chronicles 20:15, (esv) 15. And he said, “Listen, all Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem and King Jehoshaphat: Thus says the LORD to you, ‘Do not be afraid and do not be dismayed at this great horde, for the battle is not yours but God's.
8. 2 Chronicles 24:20, (esv) 20. Then the Spirit of God clothed Zechariah the son of Jehoiada the priest, and he stood above the people, and said to them, “Thus says God, ‘Why do you break the commandments of the Lord, so that you cannot prosper? Because you have forsaken the Lord, he has forsaken you.’”
9. Psalm 1:1-6, (esv) The Way of the Righteous and the Wicked
1. Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; 2. but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night. 3. He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers. 4. The wicked are not so, but are like chaff that the wind drives away. 5. Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous; 6. for the Lord knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.
10. Psalm 7:17, (esv) 17. I will give to the LORD the thanks due to his righteousness, and I will sing praise to the name of the LORD, the Most High. (Praise God with your life, all in, no excuses!)
11. Psalm 18:35, (esv) 35. You have given me the shield of your salvation, and your right hand supported me, and your gentleness made me great.
12. Psalm 23:1-6, (esv) 1. The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. 3. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake. 4. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. 5. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. 6. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
13. Psalm 24:1-10, (esv) The King of Glory
1. The earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof, the world and those who dwell therein, 2. for he has founded it upon the seas and established it upon the rivers. 3. Who shall ascend the hill of the Lord? And who shall stand in his holy place? 4. He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to what is false and does not swear deceitfully. 5. He will receive blessing from the Lord and righteousness from the God of his salvation. 6. Such is the generation of those who seek him, who seek the face of the God of Jacob. Selah 7. Lift up your heads, O gates! And be lifted up, O ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in. 8. Who is this King of glory? The Lord, strong and mighty, the Lord, mighty in battle! 9. Lift up your heads, O gates! And lift them up, O ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in. 10. Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, he is the King of glory! Selah
14. Proverbs 2:7, (esv) 7. he stores up sound wisdom for the upright; he is a shield to those who walk in integrity,
15. Proverbs 18:21, (esv) 21. Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits. (Learn to control your tongue, let only good positive words come out of your mouth)
16. Proverbs 21:31, (esv) 31. The horse is made ready for the day of battle, but the victory belongs to the LORD.
17. Isaiah 45:11-13, (esv) 11. Thus says the Lord, the Holy One of Israel, and the one who formed him: “Ask me of things to come; will you command me concerning my children and the work of my hands? 12. I made the earth and created man on it; it was my hands that stretched out the heavens, and I commanded all their host. 13. I have stirred him up in righteousness, and I will make all his ways level; he shall build my city and set my exiles free, not for price or reward,” says the Lord of hosts.
18. Isaiah 54:17, (esv) 17. no weapon that is fashioned against you shall succeed, and you shall refute every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord and their vindication from me, declares the Lord.”
19. Ezekiel 33:25-29, (esv) 25. Therefore say to them, thus says the Lord God: You eat flesh with the blood and lift up your eyes to your idols and shed blood; shall you then possess the land? 26. You rely on the sword, you commit abominations, and each of you defiles his neighbor's wife; shall you then possess the land? 27. Say this to them, thus says the Lord God: As I live, surely those who are in the waste places shall fall by the sword, and whoever is in the open field I will give to the beasts to be devoured, and those who are in strongholds and in caves shall die by pestilence. 28. And I will make the land a desolation and a waste, and her proud might shall come to an end, and the mountains of Israel shall be so desolate that none will pass through. 29. Then they will know that I am the Lord, when I have made the land a desolation and a waste because of all their abominations that they have committed.

New Testament

20. Matthew 5:28, (esv) 28. But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
21. Mark 11:22-24, (esv) 22. And Jesus answered them, “Have faith in God. 23.. Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him. 24. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
22. John 10:10-11, (esv) 10. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly. 11. I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.
23. John 14:12-16, (esv) 12. “Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I am going to the Father. 13. Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14. If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it. 15. “If you love me, you will keep my commandments. 16. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever,
24. John 14:21, (esv) 21. Whoever has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me. And he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him.”
25. Acts 2:34-40, (esv) 34. For David did not ascend into the heavens, but he himself says, “‘The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at my right hand, 35. until I make your enemies your footstool.”’ 36. Let all the house of Israel therefore know for certain that God has made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom you crucified.” 37. Now when they heard this they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?” 38. And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39. For the promise is for you and for your children and for all who are far off, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to himself.” 40. And with many other words he bore witness and continued to exhort them, saying, “Save yourselves from this crooked generation.”
26. Acts 3:17-20, (esv) 17. “And now, brothers, I know that you acted in ignorance, as did also your rulers. 18. But what God foretold by the mouth of all the prophets, that his Christ would suffer, he thus fulfilled. 19. Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out, 20. that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, and that he may send the Christ appointed for you, Jesus,
27. Romans 1:18-25, (esv) 18. For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. 19. For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. 20. For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse. 21. For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22. Claiming to be wise, they became fools, 23. and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man and birds and animals and creeping things. 24. Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves, 25. because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen.
28. Romans 8:14-18, (esv) 14. For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. 15. For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” 16. The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, 17. and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him. 18. For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.
29. Romans 8:28, (esv) 28. And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.
30. Romans 8:31-39, (esv) God's Everlasting Love
31. What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32. He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things? 33. Who shall bring any charge against God's elect? It is God who justifies. 34. Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who was raised—who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us. 35. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? 36. As it is written, “For your sake we are being killed all the day long; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.” 37. No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, 39. nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
31. 1 Corinthians 15:57, (esv) 57. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
32. 2 Corinthians 2:14, (esv) 14. But thanks be to God, who in Christ always leads us in triumphal procession, and through us spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of him everywhere.
33. 2 Corinthians 4:7-14, (esv) 7. But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us. 8. We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; 9. persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; 10. always carrying in the body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our bodies. 11. For we who live are always being given over to death for Jesus' sake, so that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh. 12. So death is at work in us, but life in you. 13. Since we have the same spirit of faith according to what has been written, “I believed, and so I spoke,” we also believe, and so we also speak, 14. knowing that he who raised the Lord Jesus will raise us also with Jesus and bring us with you into his presence.
34. 2 Corinthians 10:4-6, (esv) 4. For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. 5. We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ, 6. being ready to punish every disobedience, when your obedience is complete.
35. 2 Corinthians 12:7-10, (esv) 7. So to keep me from becoming conceited because of the surpassing greatness of the revelations, a thorn was given me in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to harass me, to keep me from becoming conceited. 8. Three times I pleaded with the Lord about this, that it should leave me. 9. But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
36. Hebrews 11:1-6, (esv) 1. Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. 2. For by it the people of old received their commendation. 3. By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible. 4. By faith Abel offered to God a more acceptable sacrifice than Cain, through which he was commended as righteous, God commending him by accepting his gifts. And through his faith, though he died, he still speaks. 5. By faith Enoch was taken up so that he should not see death, and he was not found, because God had taken him. Now before he was taken he was commended as having pleased God. 6. And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.
37. Hebrews 13:1-6, (esv) 1. Let brotherly love continue. 2. Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares. 3. Remember those who are in prison, as though in prison with them, and those who are mistreated, since you also are in the body. 4. Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterous. 5. Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” 6. So we can confidently say, “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?”
38. James 1:5, (esv) 5. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.
39. James 1:13-15, (esv) 13. Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God,” for God cannot be tempted with evil, and he himself tempts no one. 14. But each person is tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desire. 15. Then desire when it has conceived gives birth to sin, and sin when it is fully grown brings forth death.
40. Ephesians 6:1-23, (esv) 1. Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 2. “Honor your father and mother” (this is the first commandment with a promise), 3. “that it may go well with you and that you may live long in the land.” 4. Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. 5. Bondservants, obey your earthly masters with fear and trembling, with a sincere heart, as you would Christ, 6. not by the way of eye-service, as people-pleasers, but as bondservants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart, 7. rendering service with a good will as to the Lord and not to man, 8. knowing that whatever good anyone does, this he will receive back from the Lord, whether he is a bondservant or is free. 9. Masters, do the same to them, and stop your threatening, knowing that he who is both their Master and yours is in heaven, and that there is no partiality with him. 10. Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. 11. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. 12. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. 13. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. 14. Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15. and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. 16. In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; 17. and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, 18. praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints, 19. and also for me, that words may be given to me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel, 20. for which I am an ambassador in chains, that I may declare it boldly, as I ought to speak. 21. So that you also may know how I am and what I am doing, Tychicus the beloved brother and faithful minister in the Lord will tell you everything. 22. I have sent him to you for this very purpose, that you may know how we are, and that he may encourage your hearts. 23. Peace be to the brothers, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 24. Grace be with all who love our Lord Jesus Christ with love incorruptible.
41. 2 Timothy 1:7, (esv) 7. for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.
42. 1 John 4:7-8, (esv) 7. Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. 8. Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.
43. 1 John 4:17-18, (esv) 17. By this is love perfected with us, so that we may have confidence for the day of judgment, because as he is so also are we in this world. 18. There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.
Here are some more great verses. Luke 8: 49-55; 2 Tim 2:14-26; John 10: 27-29; 2 Tim 3: all; 1 Peter 2: 6-7; Romans 12: & 13: all; 2 Chronicles 16: 9, 20: 15; Proverbs 3: all especially verses 21-26. and the Memory verse: Romans 8:31.
